Kristen Doute, known for her role on “The Valley,” recently announced her engagement to Luke Broderick, her boyfriend of two years. Interestingly, Doute had a clear vision of her dream engagement ring long before Broderick proposed. In 2015, she collaborated with celebrity jeweler Kyle Chan to create a detailed design for the ring, a year after her breakup with “Vanderpump Rules” star James Kennedy.
Although Doute and Broderick only met two summers ago, she had shared her ring design with him. Broderick took the initiative to contact Chan, who then crafted the custom engagement ring. The stunning piece features a 4.27-carat elongated emerald-cut diamond, set on a 14-karat white gold band. The band also includes an additional half carat of diamonds. The ring’s hidden halo of natural white diamonds is intended to symbolize the love surrounding the central diamond, which represents Doute herself.
Broderick’s proposal was both romantic and dramatic. He popped the question on a boat in Maui while “The Valley” cameras were rolling. He asked Doute to keep an eye out for dolphins as he got down on one knee at sunset. The proposal was a complete surprise to Doute, who initially responded with some expletives but ultimately said yes.
The couple’s relationship began in June 2022, when they were both part of the same wedding party. Despite a brief fling, they made their romance official in December of that year. Their journey together has not been without its challenges, including a recent miscarriage Doute experienced, which she described as “terrifying.”
Prior to her relationship with Broderick, Doute had several notable relationships that were featured on “Vanderpump Rules.” She had a long-term relationship with Tom Sandoval, followed by a relationship with Alex Menache. After breaking up with Menache in 2022, Doute met Broderick soon after. In March, Broderick made a permanent move from Colorado to Los Angeles, and he and Doute now share an apartment in Valley Village.
As they look forward to their future, Doute’s engagement represents a joyful new chapter in her life, combining her vision of the perfect ring with a relationship that has quickly blossomed into a significant commitment.
