Chris Evans Opens Up About His Junk Food Diet and His Dog’s Role in His Fitness Routine
Chris Evans, the star of Captain America, recently shared insights on his eating habits and how his beloved dog, Dodger, fits into his fitness routine. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight on July 31, Evans celebrated National Mutt Day and highlighted the influence his rescue pup has on his overall wellness.
While fans often see Evans in peak physical condition for his action-packed roles, he admits that when not preparing for a film, his diet leans towards junk food. “When the demands of a film require me to be in a certain shape, my diet follows suit. But outside of that, it’s all about junk food,” the 43-year-old actor revealed. He humorously added, “Honestly, my diet is probably not as good as what’s in Jinx,” referring to the premium dog food line rich in healthy ingredients.
Evans and Dodger share an active lifestyle together, with the actor noting that his furry friend plays a crucial role in his exercise regimen. “There’s a lot of love and a lot of exercise. Dodger is an energetic companion who thrives on outdoor activities. We go on long hikes and even rollerblade together. At 10 years old, he shows no signs of slowing down. I just can’t believe how fit he still is—a hike over an hour long is our daily norm,” he said.
The bond between Evans and Dodger goes beyond mere physical activity. The actor expresses how much joy Dodger brings to his life. “My life is so much richer with Dodger by my side. He’s an extraordinary dog, and it’s impossible to be in a bad mood around him. Adopting him was a profound experience for me. The moment I saw him, I knew he was meant to be part of my life. From now on, I plan to exclusively rescue dogs,” he shared.
In an exciting twist, a portion of sales from Jinx products at Walmart this August will support the USO Canine Program, highlighting the philanthropic spirit that Evans embodies.
This heartfelt look into Evans’ life with Dodger showcases how a pet can shape lifestyle choices and emotional well-being, proving once again that dogs truly are man’s best friend.
