Chris Evans Opens Up About Junk Food Diet and His Dog’s Role in Fitness Routine
In a recent interview, Chris Evans shared details about his indulgence in junk food and how his faithful canine companion, Dodger, plays a significant part in his fitness regimen. The beloved actor, known for his role as Captain America, spoke with Entertainment Tonight on July 31 in celebration of National Mutt Day, shedding light on his lifestyle choices while promoting his partnership with Jinx, a dog food brand.
Evans candidly admitted that when he needs to maintain a certain physique for a film, he adjusts his diet accordingly. However, he humorously noted that outside of those specific periods, he is not beyond enjoying some junk food. “If the film I’m working on requires a certain level of fitness, then the diet will reflect that, but otherwise, it’s junk food,” the 43-year-old star revealed. He added that his own eating habits might not even match the quality found in Jinx dog food, which is rich in high-quality ingredients and nutrients.
When it comes to workouts, Evans is always in sync with Dodger. Their active lifestyle includes long hikes and rollerblading sessions, which keeps both of them energetic. “Dodger leads a very active lifestyle. He loves going on big hikes, and despite being 10 years old, he’s as lively as ever,” Evans remarked. Their daily hikes often exceed an hour, allowing the actor to stay fit while soaking up some bonding time with his dog.
The bond with Dodger transcends fitness, contributing significantly to Evans’ overall well-being. “My life is exponentially better with Dodger. He is an incredibly special dog, and it’s hard to be in a bad mood when he’s around,” he expressed. Evans recounted that adopting Dodger was a moment of fate, stating, “It was one of the most profound experiences I’ve ever had. I knew right away he was coming home with me.” Moving forward, he emphasized his commitment to rescuing dogs, solidifying his passion for animal welfare.
As part of a special initiative, a portion of sales from Jinx products sold at Walmart throughout August will support the USO Canine Program, reflecting Evans’ dedication to both his pet and broader community causes.
