A crime scene investigator who worked on the notorious Tupac Shakur case is raising eyebrows with her assertion that Sean “Diddy” Combs may be linked to the rapper’s 1996 murder, as well as a previous assault in 1994. Sheryl McCollum, speaking to the media, recounted critical details of the events surrounding Tupac’s life-threatening moments, shedding light on what she believes are compelling connections.
McCollum pointed to the 1994 shooting incident where Tupac was attacked at Quad Studios in New York City. At that time, she observed that Diddy, along with a large entourage, was present in the same building. “How does it make sense that only Tupac got robbed and shot when Diddy was among a crowd of folks, totally unharmed?” she queried. It raises questions about why a whole group, seemingly better positioned to fend off a thief, would emerge unscathed while Tupac became the sole target.
Following that shooting, Tupac publicly accused Combs and the late Biggie Smalls of collusion, citing their indifferent reaction when he staggered into the studio injured and bleeding. Tupac reflected on the lack of concern from those around him, accentuating the tension that had developed within the hip-hop community.
Fast forward to 1996, when Tupac was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas. McCollum claims that both incidents reveal a pattern indicating that someone close to Tupac may have had insight into his whereabouts. She noted, “He was always in a vulnerable position—trapped in an elevator once and caught inside a vehicle at another time, with no escape route.”
The lack of video evidence at both crime scenes only intensifies the mystery, leading McCollum to believe that the circle of potential suspects could be quite narrow. Moreover, as recent news highlights, Tupac’s family has engaged lawyer Alex Spiro for an investigation into his death, possibly with the aim of pursuing a wrongful death lawsuit against Combs.
