Patti LuPone has once again taken a swipe at Kim Kardashian’s acting abilities.
In the latest episode of “Hot Ones Versus” with Aubrey Plaza, the Broadway legend said, “There are just some things people can’t do, and you have to admit when it’s not within your capabilities. That’s the reality.” Brightopis.com
She continued, “Not everyone can excel at everything — like Kim Kardashian, for example. Can we be honest about that?”
LuPone, 75, previously made headlines for criticizing Kardashian’s performance in “American Horror Story: Delicate,” where Kardashian played a celebrity publicist struggling with fertility issues amid supernatural threats. During an April 2023 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” LuPone argued that the role should have been filled by a more experienced actor.
On Tuesday’s episode, LuPone added, “Kim, what exactly are you doing with your career? Perhaps sticking to other pursuits might be a better choice,” referencing Noël Coward’s song “Mrs. Worthington.”
Kardashian has not publicly responded to LuPone’s remarks, and her representative did not immediately comment on the latest criticism.
In June, Kardashian expressed her pride in her role on “AHS” during Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series. She noted that Ryan Murphy, the series creator, specifically crafted the role for her after she declined an earlier, reality-based offer from him.
Kardashian will also star in an upcoming legal drama series from Murphy, where she will play a successful divorce lawyer. Meanwhile, LuPone is currently starring in Jen Silverman’s new Broadway play, “The Roommate,” for a 16-week run.
