Kate Upton sets the record straight regarding her recent social media post that many perceived as alarming. On Monday, the model took to her Instagram Stories to clarify that her message about a “drunk and high” father putting his daughter at risk was not about her husband, Justin Verlander.
“I shared a concerning emergency situation on my Story, and I appreciate everyone’s concern. However, some people mistakenly thought it involved my husband,” Upton, 32, stated.
She further explained, “To clarify: we do not have a 10-year-old. Our daughter is 6, and Justin would never put her in a terrifying or dangerous situation. He is a wonderful father, always focused on ensuring our daughter is safe, secure, and loved.”
Upton married the Houston Astros pitcher in 2017 and reiterated that the incident she referred to in her original post from mid-November was actually about her niece, not her daughter. “Navigating this situation to protect my niece has been incredibly challenging,” Upton added, emphasizing her concern for her niece’s safety. “The legal system can be complex and often seems to prioritize a father’s privacy over the well-being of innocent children.”
She revealed that she, her sister, and Verlander were doing everything possible to safeguard her niece.
Last month, Upton had shared a scenario describing a father, just out of rehab, traveling with his 10-year-old daughter. In her post, she expressed her concerns about the father’s behavior, stating, “He gets drunk and high on pills, claims to have a gun, and threatens the taxi driver if they aren’t dropped off on the highway in the middle of the night.”
Upton sought feedback from her followers, asking if they considered the situation an emergency and how they would feel if it involved their own child.
In closing, Upton thanked her followers for their support and encouraged them to keep her niece in their thoughts, underlining the importance of protecting children from such distressing circumstances.
