Jason Kelce is once again acknowledging the fashion finesse of his wife, Kylie Kelce, who played a crucial role in getting him ready for a recent golfing event. The former Philadelphia Eagles tight end surprised fans with his presence at the 2024 American Century Championship held in South Lake Tahoe, Nevada. During the event, Jason, 36, spent some time practicing his swing on the driving range at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, looking dapper in a stylish blue polo and tailored khaki pants.
A humorous moment emerged when NBC Sports posted a video on social media, teasing that “@JasonKelce brought khakis for Jason.” This jab alluded to a well-documented exchange on the New Heights podcast hosted by Jason and his brother Travis, where Travis lightheartedly critiqued Jason for depending on Kylie for his fashion choices. The memorable banter saw Travis questioning why Jason didn’t arrive in jeans for a gala, citing that he showed up in shorts and flip-flops because Kylie was running late with his clothes.
Not one to take himself too seriously, Jason responded to the jab with a self-deprecating remark, admitting, “If I’m being honest, Kylie went out and bought them last minute and packed them for me.” The couple, who tied the knot in 2018, are proud parents to three daughters: Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 1.
Jason’s unexpected appearance at the championship comes as the event honors the late Tim Wakefield, a former Major League pitcher, and his wife Stacy, both of whom bravely battled cancer. As Jason competes against renowned athletes like Trevor Lawrence, Alex Rodriguez, and Aaron Rodgers, he is also joined by celebrities including Colin Jost and Carson Daly.
This golfing outing coincides with Jason’s brief break from podcasting, as Travis gears up for training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs. “We’ve got a nice couple of months off from podcasting because, I guess, in three weeks, Travis will be in the thick of training camp,” Jason mentioned in a recent episode. Travis added that he’d be ready to resume their podcasting adventures once training camp wraps up, hinting at a potential return in late August.
Travis and the Chiefs commence their training camp on July 21, with their first preseason match set against the Jacksonville Jaguars on August 10. They will follow up with games against the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears, leading up to the start of the regular season on September 5 against the Baltimore Ravens, a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship Game.
In the meantime, Travis’ girlfriend, Taylor Swift, is traveling across Europe for her Eras Tour, with multiple dates lined up in Germany. As for Jason, he is preparing to join ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown after announcing his retirement from the NFL earlier this year.
