Shannon Nadj, the innovative mind behind Hot Pilates, has launched her inaugural reformer Pilates studio adjacent to her popular heated mat Pilates location in West Hollywood, California. The overhaul has already attracted the likes of A-listers such as Lori Harvey, eager to experience this fresh fitness destination. As Nadj approaches a milestone 10 years of Hot Pilates, she notes that her clients have expressed a desire for reformer classes, especially with the soaring popularity of Pilates. Inspired by this demand, she is excited to incorporate her expertise and reintroduce traditional reformer Pilates to the scene.
So, what’s in store? Nadj explains that participants will engage with classic machines designed to activate those elusive small muscles often overlooked in standard workouts. “Our approach will emphasize athletic-style Pilates with a commitment to classical principles, focusing on building a robust core, enhancing flexibility, and improving posture,” she shares.
While this new studio won’t reach the sweltering temperatures of 95°F, participants can expect to work up a sweat. “Classes are structured for 50 minutes and are unheated, yet the intensity will still leave you feeling energized,” Nadj states. She has crafted the environment to serve as a modern wellness sanctuary, emphasizing an intimate experience where everyone can feel at home.
Nadj emphasizes that each Pilates destination has its own distinct atmosphere, yet they complement one another seamlessly. “The reformer is a reliable tool that ensures proper technique,” she adds. She encourages incorporating two to three reformer classes per week to leverage the resistance offered by springs, enhancing one’s overall mat workout. “The combination is transformative. My body has undergone significant changes after just a few sessions,” admits the seasoned instructor.
