Daddy Yankee Accuses Estranged Wife of Unauthorized $100 Million Withdrawal Amid Divorce
In a shocking turn of events, Daddy Yankee, the renowned Puerto Rican reggaetón superstar, has leveled serious accusations against his estranged wife, Mireddys González. According to court documents filed in San Juan, he claims that González withdrew a staggering $100 million from two corporate bank accounts without his knowledge or permission.
The rapper, whose real name is Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, alleges that González siphoned $80 million from his El Cartel Records account and an additional $20 million from Los Cangris account. Reports indicate that González held the position of CEO for the record labels founded by Yankee, with her sister, Ayeicha González Castellanos, serving as secretary/treasurer.
Yankee contends that this substantial withdrawal occurred after he had revoked the authority of both sisters and explicitly warned them that they were prohibited from carrying out any transactions on behalf of the companies. The court documents reveal Yankee’s frustration, stating that he has been cut off from accessing information about the company’s finances and operations.
Seeking legal intervention, Yankee asked the court to immediately remove González and her sister from their roles within the corporations and demanded the return of crucial information and documents that he claims they have unlawfully withheld. He further accused them of overstepping their authorized powers, resulting in harmful financial decisions for the business.
In his filing, Daddy Yankee also pointed out that González allegedly engaged a third-party representative to oversee the sale of his music catalog to Concord, which he described as unreasonably undervalued. The artist claimed he has yet to receive a copy of the contract documents, rendering him unaware of the full scope of the transaction or any limitations imposed on his music.
Yankee referred to González’s alleged $20 million withdrawal as a desperate act that blatantly ignored his prior warnings against any financial maneuvers that could jeopardize the company’s fiscal stability. The filing makes it clear why he feels she has intended to keep him uninformed about their financial dealings.
The recent allegations come on the heels of Yankee announcing that he and González, who started dating in high school, are ending their marriage after nearly three decades. Just earlier this month, he shared his heartache on social media, revealing that he had spent significant time trying to mend their relationship but ultimately respected her decision to file for divorce.
Together, the couple shares two children, Jesaaelys, 28, and Jeremy, 26, while Yankee has another daughter, Yamilet, from a previous relationship. Notably, in December 2023, he announced his retirement from music to dedicate his life to serving God.
As of now, neither González nor her sister has publicly responded to the allegations made by Daddy Yankee. The ongoing situation continues to unfold as both parties navigate this tumultuous chapter in their lives.
