Chrissy Teigen has taken a unique approach to her Thanksgiving feast this year, opting for some unexpected food sources, including Disneyland. In a recent interview with Travel + Leisure, the model revealed her plan to secure “20 smoked turkey legs” from the iconic theme park, boasting about their irresistible flavor.
Teigen jokingly described how she and her family will enjoy these culinary delights, stating, “We’ll just lean up against the dumpster and pick at turkey legs when we’re at Disneyland.” She emphasized that beyond traditional turkey, these legs have a taste akin to ham, making them a must-have for her holiday spread.
When it comes to gravy, Teigen has her bases covered, planning to source it from fast food favorites KFC and Popeyes. Her philosophy is simple: if you love something, why not incorporate it into your meal? She reflected on past Thanksgivings, mentioning, “I used to put so much pressure on myself to be perfect… but the holidays are about family, not the stress of cooking.”
In addition to her unconventional main dish, the self-proclaimed “side queen” is crafting a delightful array of 15 side dishes for her guests. Teigen teased some of her favorites, including a classic green bean casserole with crispy onions and her mother’s famous scalloped potatoes.
Despite her creative menu, Teigen acknowledges her struggles with cooking turkey, revealing that she often opts for three large chickens instead. She has tried every method imaginable—deep-frying, smoking, and more—but feels chickens are her strength.
Teigen, who tied the knot with John Legend in 2013, is busy raising their four children: Luna, Miles, Esti, and Wren. The couple has a tradition of ending their holiday celebrations with family game nights, even going so far as to purchase every board game they could find online.
As Thanksgiving approaches, it’s clear that Chrissy Teigen is all about embracing joy and simplicity, making her holiday meal both memorable and delicious.
