Channeling French Chic with Rouje’s Holiday Must-Haves

As a fashion graduate navigating the industry, people are often surprised to discover I’ve never set foot in Paris. Believe me, I’d jump at a chance to visit—please send me an invite! Despite my lack of firsthand experience with the iconic fashion scene, I’ve immersed myself in it through my favorite Parisian brands, with Rouje at the top of my list. This label is all about feminine, retro vibes that truly make a statement. Their latest holiday collection has captivated me completely, and I even got to try some pieces from it.
Founded by the style icon Jeanne Damas, Rouje offers everything you need to achieve that coveted French girl aesthetic for all those festive gatherings and New Year’s celebrations. This holiday season, I’m on a mission to diversify my wardrobe, particularly my selection of bottoms (goodbye, jeans!). The new Marlone Pant immediately caught my eye. These chic, cozy leggings feature sheer fabric with velvet patterns, making them perfect for this time of year.
Adding to the festive flair, Rouje teamed up with the iconic Moulin Rouge to create a stunning collection filled with vibrant red party pieces. The heart-printed midi skirt, in particular, swept me off my feet, and I’ve already worn it a couple of times this month—December has just begun!

For this ensemble, I went all-in on the velvet theme, pairing the aforementioned leggings with my olive green blazer from Aligne. A bright red suede bag from Madewell and a recent AGMES collaboration completed the festive feel. Interesting Layering
When I wore this look around my millennial friends, they playfully pointed out that it had a nostalgic early 2000s vibe, reminiscent of Ashley Tisdale on the red carpet. Embracing the quirky aspect of the outfit, I layered a velvet bow-adorned top on top, and completed the look with silver ballet flats.

I tried to figure out how I could incorporate Rouje’s elegant pieces into my more relaxed weekend wardrobe. My solution involved styling the sparkling cardigan with a classic trench coat and a plaid winter scarf. On the bottom, I went for trendy black barrel jeans, and since I’m a fan of colorful footwear, I chose vibrant red and pink Converse trainers for a pop of fun.

I’m definitely planning to dazzle in this floral jacquard mini dress during a night out with friends this month. I’m pairing it with my vintage leather and fur jacket, along with black chunky kitten heels. Since I’ll be relying on rides and leaving my car behind, I’ll opt for my tiny Jacquemus bag, which can hold just my essentials like ID, debit card, and a bit of lip gloss.
