Christina Hall recently shared her thoughts on her breakup with Josh Hall, whom she described as “insecure,” while discussing her latest reality show “The Flip Off.” In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the HGTV star revealed that their working relationship made filming challenging. “When someone is insecure by you and doesn’t like to see you succeed, it really affects the vibe,” Hall explained, noting that she felt dimmed in her own shine to avoid making him feel less than. “Who wants to live like that?” she added.
The dynamic between the former couple made her experience on set less enjoyable. Hall admitted that their split has made the process smoother and more enjoyable: “I did not enjoy filming with him, so having split up made this, to be honest, so much easier and so much better in every way.” After filing for divorce in July following nearly three years of marriage, she accused her estranged husband of financial misconduct during their ongoing legal disputes. As Hall departed from the show amid their separation, she noted that filming would have been a struggle had they remained together.
In addition, Hall addressed the tension surrounding her relationship with her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, who also features in the series. She claimed Josh exhibited jealousy towards her professional rapport with Tarek, with whom she shares two children. “Tarek and I have our own connection, and some might call it ‘flirty,’” she said, clarifying it as more of a sibling bond.
Long before the fallout, Hall had confided in Tarek about her troubles with Josh: “I had been telling Tarek things weren’t good with Hall for at least a year, probably longer.” Tarek reflected positively on Hall’s recovery post-breakup, stating that her energy has returned, and she seems happier, embracing life with excitement once again. As the family navigates through this tumultuous period, they look forward to the new show debuting in January 2025.
