Kenya Moore has come forward, taking full responsibility for the controversial poster incident that led to her suspension from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” earlier this year. Appearing on “Tamron Hall,” Moore reflected on the scandal, stating, “Hindsight is always 50/50. The images were indeed distasteful, and I escalated the situation more than necessary.” She acknowledged her past mistakes, saying she has always been accountable for her actions. “I apologize for my choices. I didn’t have to go that far.”
During the grand opening of her Kenya Moore Hair Spa in June, the reality star shocked attendees by displaying posters allegedly featuring newcomer Brittany Eady in explicit poses. Initially, Moore denied her involvement, cryptically declaring on social media, “Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see. The truth always comes to light.”
A week following the event, it was revealed that Bravo had suspended Moore indefinitely from “RHOA.” However, she clarified during her interview that she was “never fired” and insisted that she remains under contract with the network and continues to receive compensation. She also dismissed claims that she was investigated for revenge porn.
In discussing the rationale behind showcasing those risqué posters, Moore stated that some of the new cast members are eager to make a name for themselves in the show, which may lead them to “poke the bear,” a situation she felt warranted a drastic response. During the filming, she felt threatened during a confrontation with a new cast member, which fueled her actions. Moore revealed that although she had found various explicit images of Eady online, she only displayed a single photo.
“I’m a mother, and this situation was new for me,” she said, holding back tears. “I felt like I was defending myself and my child.” Moore welcomed her daughter Brooklyn in 2018. Eady has yet to publicly respond to Moore’s recent comments regarding the incident. After the scandal, Eady posted on her Instagram, expressing the discomfort of being targeted by someone she had hoped would accept her into the group.
