Meghan Markle has officially delayed the debut of her upcoming Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” in response to the devastating wildfires affecting her beloved Los Angeles. On Sunday, the streaming giant announced that they would be postponing the show’s launch from January 15 to March 4 at the request of the Duchess of Sussex.
In her statement, Meghan expressed gratitude to her partners at Netflix for their understanding, stating, “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.”
The highly anticipated show, filmed in Montecito, where Markle lives with Prince Harry, centers on her passions including cooking, gardening, and hosting. The series promises to feature special guests like Roy Choi, Mindy Kaling, and Alice Waters, with cameos from her husband, Prince Harry. Sources reveal that Markle will showcase several products from her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, throughout the episodes.
Recently, Markle has been active in providing support to those affected by the wildfires. Last week, she and Harry visited the Pasadena Convention Center, where they helped distribute meals to displaced residents. The couple thanked first responders for their hard work during this crisis, and Harry even made a special effort to get a donut for a bedridden man, as reported by Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo.
Despite living around 90 miles north of Los Angeles, the royals’ home has so far been spared from the impacts of recent wildfires like the Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire. However, they have opened their Montecito home to friends who suffered losses in the disaster. Numerous celebrities, including Miles Teller and Paris Hilton, have seen their homes destroyed in the fires, highlighting the widespread devastation across the area.
As Meghan and Harry continue to engage with the wildfire relief efforts, Markle’s upcoming Netflix series has taken a backseat, emphasizing her commitment to supporting her community during this trying time.
