Julia Fox channels ‘American Beauty’ in stunning sheer floral ensemble
Julia Fox is turning heads once again. The star of “Uncut Gems” recently showcased her fashion flair while participating in Yayoi Kusama’s exhibit “Flower Obsession” at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne. In a striking display, Fox reclined among vibrant red flowers, clad in a completely transparent catsuit adorned with strategically placed blossoms, reminiscent of Mena Suvari’s iconic scene from the 1999 film “American Beauty.”
Designed by the Melbourne label Wackie Ju, with assistance from Jonty Knight, the daring outfit caught the eyes of many. Fox’s ensemble was complemented by dramatic makeup and an eye-catching curly updo, which featured matching red flowers. Stylist Briana Andalore played a crucial role in curating the look, pairing the sultry catsuit with red strappy heels from Matea Gluščević. John Novotny crafted the towering hairstyle, while makeup artist Meg McConville added the finishing touches with a Victorian-inspired aesthetic.
In a post on Instagram, Fox expressed her amazement at the moment. Fans quickly responded with admiration for her homage, with one follower noting, “Mother continues to Mother.” Mena Suvari, the original muse of the film, shared her delight as well, commenting on social media, “This is so incredibly beautiful… Thank you for thinking of me.”
Just days prior, Fox attended the NGV Gala in Melbourne, slipping into an exquisite silver chainmail dress from Catholic Guilt, inspired by Kusama’s mirror installation titled “Chandelier of Grief.” Talk about art influencing fashion in the most captivating way.
