Anna Delvey expresses gratitude following her stint on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ and shares her Thanksgiving plans
Anna Delvey, known as the “fake heiress,” has had a whirlwind experience on “Dancing With the Stars,” and it seems she has taken some lessons from her time on the show. After her much-discussed exit from the competition, which ended with her infamous one-word response “nothing,” Delvey made a triumphant return for the finale held in Los Angeles. In an exclusive chat, she reflected on her experience, stating that she genuinely enjoyed her time on the show, a stark contrast to earlier perceptions.
Delvey admitted, “I feel great. Yeah, it was so much fun. It was so exciting.” Now under house arrest since 2022, she noted that her return to the ballroom felt lighter this time around, without the pressure of competition weighing on her. “We were just here to enjoy it and to have fun,” she said about her reunion with professional dance partner Ezra Sosa.
When asked about the controversy surrounding her prior remarks, Delvey expressed her confusion over the backlash. “I’m not running for Secretary of the Treasury, so I don’t understand why people ever got so upset,” she commented. The reality star finds it silly for people to take the show too seriously, suggesting that its impact on their lives is minimal.
As Thanksgiving approached shortly after the season finale, Delvey revealed her plans to spend the holiday in upstate New York with her close friend and public relations mogul Kelly Cutrone. She shared her excitement about dining out rather than dealing with cooking or cleaning. “We’re going to be eating out. We are not cooking or cleaning. Yay!” she exclaimed.
Earlier this season, Delvey created quite a stir with her elimination on September 24, when she was asked what she would take away from the experience and replied with the blunt “nothing.” This followed a stunning debut performance where she incorporated her court-ordered ankle monitor into her costume, much to the fascination of viewers. She creatively collaborated with the show’s wardrobe team to bedazzle her device, turning a visual reminder of her past into a fashion statement.
Delvey first captured public attention by posing as a wealthy German heiress and was eventually convicted of defrauding various individuals and businesses out of over $250,000 from 2013 to 2017. Her life story was dramatized in Netflix’s series “Inventing Anna.” Despite her past, Delvey secured special permission from immigration authorities to participate in the show, allowing her to travel from her New York residence to Los Angeles for filming while adhering to the conditions of her release.
The finale of Season 33 concluded with “Bachelor” alum Joey Graziadei and his partner Jenna Johnson claiming the coveted Mirrorball Trophy, marking a memorable night for both competitors and viewers alike.
