According to Kevin Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, while the standard child support payments will cease, Britney could still find herself liable for specific expenses that she previously agreed to cover.
Kaplan noted that while regular payments would conclude, there exist certain costs, such as college tuition, that Spears voluntarily agreed to support. This arrangement stems from the judgment agreed upon when Spears and Federline divorced in 2007. Both are parents to Sean Preston Federline, now 19, and Jayden James Federline, who turned 18 in September 2023. Up until Sean reached adulthood, Federline was receiving $40,000 monthly, which was later reduced to $20,000 until Jayden also became a legal adult.
Under California law, child support typically ends when the youngest child graduates from high school or turns 19, whichever comes first. Reports indicate that Jayden is set to complete his high school education shortly, having attended school in Hawaii with his father and half-siblings since August 2023.
