Kevin Federline blindsided by Britney Spears’ reunion with their son Jayden

Kevin Federline expressed surprise over the news of his ex-wife Britney Spears reuniting with their 18-year-old son, Jayden James Federline. Mark Vincent Kaplan, the attorney for the former dancer, stated, “If there has been a reconciliation, it’s news to Kevin.” Kaplan relayed that Kevin regularly communicates with his younger son, yet Jayden hasn’t mentioned any reconnection with the pop icon.
Earlier reports indicated that Spears, now 42, had reconciled with Jayden after years of estrangement. An anonymous source revealed to media outlets that the pair has been spending considerable time together. It appears Jayden has returned to California after living in Hawaii with his father, Kevin, 46, and older brother, Sean Preston Federline, 19, since August 2023. Details regarding where the reunion took place, particularly if it was at Spears’ luxury home in Thousand Oaks, California, remain unclear.
The excitement surrounding the reunion has reportedly reached Spears, who is said to be overjoyed to have her son back in her life. “Britney is thrilled to have her baby back,” a source disclosed, adding, “Everything is moving in the right direction.” Meanwhile, Sean Preston continues to reside in Hawaii with Kevin and his stepmother, Victoria Prince.
The relationship between Spears and Jayden has been improving gradually since he and his brother reached out to her on Mother’s Day in May. Kaplan acknowledged the complexities involved in such a reconciliation, emphasizing that Kevin supports their sons’ desire to maintain relationships with their mother. Britney and Kevin were married from 2004 until their divorce in 2007. Prior to this reunion, Spears had been estranged from her sons for a considerable period due to concerns surrounding her mental health.
In a candid 2022 interview, Jayden expressed hope for mending the bond with his mother, stating, “I 100 percent think this can be fixed. It’s just going to take a lot of time and effort.” He also noted that he wished for his mother’s well-being, mentioning, “When she gets better, I really want to see her again.” Jayden previously voiced concerns about his mother’s provocative posts on social media, indicating a complicated relationship rooted in both love and concern.
Despite physical distance, Spears has continued to cherish her sons, dedicating her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” to them, affirming that they are the loves of her life.
