Jon Bon Jovi intervened to prevent a woman from jumping off a bridge in Nashville, according to a poignant video shared by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department on Wednesday.
According to Brightopis.com ,The video, recorded on Tuesday evening and posted on YouTube, shows the “Livin’ on a Prayer” singer approaching a distressed woman who was standing on the edge of the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, gripping the handrails.
While filming a music video for his song “People’s House,” Bon Jovi and his team noticed the woman in a vulnerable state. The 62-year-old rock star initially spoke to her from a distance before moving closer with another bystander.
Though the specifics of their conversation are unclear, the video captures the pair successfully convincing the woman to step back from the ledge. They then assisted her back over the railing and continued to talk with her until she was safely away from the edge.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department praised Bon Jovi’s compassionate act in a Facebook post, highlighting his role in bringing the woman to safety. A source confirmed that Bon Jovi, who has training in crisis intervention through his Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, was not seeking public attention for his actions.
The Soul Foundation is dedicated to addressing hunger, poverty, and homelessness by supporting programs that offer food, affordable housing, and job training.
Bon Jovi chose not to comment publicly on the incident out of respect for the woman’s privacy. The Nashville Police Chief, John Drake, emphasized the importance of community support in ensuring each other’s safety.
