Snowboarding pioneer Tina Basich had long revealed issues in her past relationship with Dave Grohl, decades before he confessed to fathering a child outside his current marriage.
In her 2003 memoir, *Pretty Good for a Girl: The Autobiography of a Snowboarding Pioneer*, Basich, now 55, recounted the heartbreak of discovering that Grohl, also 55, was allegedly involved with both her and another woman at the same time. “I don’t know how anyone in his profession can have a normal relationship with a girlfriend… or two, as it turned out,” she wrote, expressing her disappointment at discovering Grohl’s infidelity through indirect means, feeling as though everyone else knew but her.
Basich lamented the end of their relationship, describing the break-up as particularly painful. She recounted receiving only a brief phone call from Grohl after several weeks of trying to reach him, feeling neglected and discarded despite his widespread success.
“The breakups suck, but rockstar exits are the worst,” Basich wrote, highlighting her frustration and the emotional impact of Grohl’s behavior on her life. She recalled an instance where she was reminded of him while grocery shopping, further deepening her sense of loss.
