Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly been removed from suicide watch as he gears up for his upcoming sex trafficking trial.
A lawyer representing the music icon shared that Combs is in a focused and resilient state, emphasizing that he is concentrating on his defense strategy and preparing thoroughly for the court proceedings.
Sources indicated that Combs has had visits from family members at the Metropolitan Detention Center located in Brooklyn, where he is currently held on serious charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and unlawful transportation for prostitution activities. Reports confirm that Combs is being housed in a dormitory-style setting within the facility.
Previously, Combs was placed on suicide watch after a judge denied bail following his arrest on September 16. Insiders suggested that this measure was necessary due to concerns regarding his mental state at the time, as he was reportedly in shock.
According to the US Department of Justice’s National Institute of Corrections, suicide watch involves increased supervision for inmates who may be suicidal, requiring frequent monitoring.
Combs, who is 54 years old, was taken into custody several months after law enforcement conducted raids on his residences in Miami and Los Angeles, reportedly uncovering drugs and over 1,000 bottles of lubricant, as outlined in an indictment. The document claims that Combs allegedly established a criminal organization whose members partook in a range of criminal activities, including sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.
The artist, known for hits like “I’ll Be Missing You,” has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him.
In a recent documentary titled “The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment,” Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, noted that the father of seven is eager to share his side of the story. Agnifilo commented on Combs’ mindset, describing it as surprisingly positive, stating that he has accepted his current situation for the time being.
Compounded by legal troubles, Combs also faced accusations from his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, who alleged rape and sexual abuse in a November 2023 lawsuit. This lawsuit included claims of forcing her to have sexual encounters with male sex workers.
Just a day after the legal filing, the two reached a settlement, with Combs maintaining his denial of any wrongdoing. His attorney clarified in a statement that settling the lawsuit does not equate to an admission of guilt, expressing that Combs was pleased to arrive at a mutual agreement and wished Ventura well.
