La La Anthony is turning heads, both on the runway and in her personal style. Recently, she sat down with ET ahead of her role as host for the 14th Rookie Kids Fashion Show in Los Angeles, set for September 26, where she opened up about her son Kiyan’s influence on her fashion sense. Kiyan, now 18 and the son of La La and ex-husband Carmelo Anthony, graced the catwalk at the same show in 2015, and ever since, they have been swapping style tips.
La La, 42, shared how the bond over fashion continues to strengthen. “He keeps me updated on the latest trends and what’s stylish,” she said. Her top piece of advice for her son? “Always be true to yourself. While it’s great to follow trends, make sure you truly love what you’re wearing. When you love your outfit, it boosts your confidence.”
She has consistently lived by this mantra when choosing her outfits. “My personal style has evolved alongside changing times and trends. I don’t have many regrets, but every now and then, I see an old photo and wonder, ‘What was I thinking?’. Fashion is all about evolution,” she noted.
Currently, La La’s wardrobe reflects a blend of comfort and edge. As she prepares for the fall season, her favorite look includes stylish sneakers paired with denim-on-denim ensembles. “It’s a classic look that you can dress up or keep casual,” she explained. “I want to feel sexy, but at heart, I’m a tomboy who loves comfortable attire.”
