Brittany Mahomes recently discussed the name she and her husband, Patrick Mahomes, ultimately decided against for their newborn daughter. In an interview with Today.com, Brittany revealed that their three-year-old daughter, Sterling, had her heart set on the name Elsa for her little sister. “My daughter wants me to name her Elsa,” Brittany shared, adding that Sterling was quite insistent for a while. However, she quickly affirmed, “But, obviously, we’re not doing that.”
The couple chose to name their new baby girl Golden, continuing their unique metal-themed naming tradition. Brittany explained how they arrived at the middle name Raye after considerable deliberation. “We went back and forth for a while,” she stated, expressing their fondness for the final choice.
Brittany also mentioned that their son, Bronze, who is two years old, had referred to the impending arrival as “baby sissy.” She playfully remarked about his misperception, stating, “I’m not sure if it’s registered that an actual human is coming,” noting Sterling’s fascination with babies.
The announcement of their expanding family came in July 2024, and Golden made her first appearance on Instagram shortly after her birth, with the proud parents sharing an adorable black-and-white photograph of her tiny feet. The post even attracted a ‘like’ from Taylor Swift.
At a recent press conference, Patrick reflected on the joy of welcoming another daughter into their family. He also spoke about his desire to support Brittany as she took care of the newborn. Despite having previously hinted at being content with their current family size, he mentioned that he might be open to the idea of a fourth child in the future.
Together since their high school days, the couple tied the knot in Hawaii in March 2022. Their children, Sterling and Bronze, were born in February 2021 and November 2022, respectively. As Brittany and Patrick embrace their growing family, they continue to find joy in the love and laughter that comes with being parents.
