La La Anthony is embracing family-style vibes! Recently, she spoke with ET about her upcoming role as host for the 14th Rookie Kids Fashion Show, presented by Haddad Brands, taking place on September 26 in Los Angeles, California. In their chat, she revealed how her son has a significant impact on her fashion sense. Kiyan, her 18-year-old son with ex-husband Carmelo Anthony, made a splash on the runway at the event back in 2015, and since then, the duo has been exchanging style advice.
“We’ve really bonded over fashion,” the 42-year-old television star shared. “He always updates me on what’s hot and in vogue.” She emphasized an important lesson she passes on to him: “The best advice I give is to stay true to yourself in style. Following trends is fine, but you should genuinely love what you wear. When you feel good about your outfit, it shows.”
La La’s own fashion philosophy has also evolved over time. “My style has changed with the seasons and trends,” she admitted. “I don’t have too many regrets, but sometimes I look back at old photos and think, ‘What was I wearing?’ Fashion is always changing.”
Currently, the style maven is all about cozy looks with a bit of edge. Her fall favorites include “a chic sneaker and denim-on-denim. I believe it’s a classic style that can be dressed up or down.” She added, “I like to feel sexy, but at my core, I’m a tomboy who values comfort.”
